Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences was established on November 19, 1983 as an autonomous organisation on the pattern of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.The estimated budget was 110 Crore rupeesCrores. It is one of the main health care institutions in the state of Bihar. which was later revised to 133 The institute provides education in medicine and conducts health and medicinal research.now it gate affiliation of medical college in june 2011. It have 100 seat. First batch started from august 2011.It is 3rd medical college in patna and 10th in bihar.
